IB Physics as tall as How Hard Is It To getting a 7?

Well, it's due to a lot of environment. It depends on trainees and their style in learning, their strengths, this is able to teacher, the text e-book, the time spent et cetera.

But there is site to get a general looked at the difficulty, thanks to get the IB statistical reports. A few of the the statistics from the November 2009 session:

There experienced 764 Candidates taking Physics SL:

31% during candidates received a 7, 17% harnessed a 6, 14% harnessed 5, 17% received applying a 4, 17% received applying a 3 and 5% acquired a 2

There were 751 experts taking Physics HL:

20% during candidates received a 7, 16% harnessed a 6, 16% harnessed a 5, 19% harnessed a 4, 19% harnessed a 3, and 10% obtained a 2.

So an amount we tell from this data? Well, it is VERY possible to get a 6 or a 7 in either SL and HL, when you consider that this represents over 35% to get a candidates.

Now lets point out the cut-offs for the first November 2009 session:

At Dangerous:

7 = 71 as tall as 100%

6 = 61 often 70%

5 = 52 : 60%

4 = 42 . 51%

At Standard Level:

7 = 68 often 100%

6 = 58 : 67%

5 = 49 . 57%

4 = 39 - 48%

The cut-offs to really get a 7 don't seem excellent. Most people however, are planning to insist that the reason its not very high is because Physics is hard. What I say might be that the cut-offs are very FAIR and the higher grade boundaries are hardly any attainable.

In fact, suggests of systematic revision, this can be simply achievable. And by research revision, I mean checking Syllabus point-by-point, such that you have an awareness of the possible questions that you may be examined on. Additionally, by incorporating practicing through past docs and scrutinizing mark methods, you can actually achieve very clear idea of these expectations of the test.

Comparing the cut-offs for some other science subjects:

Chemistry HILLSIDE: 80% for a 7

Chemistry SL: 77% to really get a 7

Biology HL: 82% to really get a 7

Biology SL: 80% to really get a 7

So, even if Physics really need to be "harder" this difficulty is passed made up for out by the significantly lower cut-offs.

Let us compare this to available other IB Science Concepts.

For Biology, in November 2011:

Only 3% during students achieved a 7 using Standard Level. And only 11% together with students achieved a 7 at Advanced level.

This is a remarkably low percentage that can't be accounted for by just intelligence alone.

For Style, in November 2011:

14% of students acquired a 7 at Standard Level and 26% at Dangerous.

This is much a lot Biology but still a lesser amount than Physics.

Why? Being an ex-student containing completed both subjects, Came across Chemistry and Physics a number of in raw difficulty. At the moment though, when an equally difficult subject ingests a much lower cut-off like a 7, i. e. Physics, the full subject becomes much less difficult.
